Review of the Week of November 2-6
Hello Families,
This is an update regarding what we learned this week at school.
Reading- This week we have been working with our individual groups to practice our letter sounds this week. Ask your child what they learned with their reading groups this week.
Writing- In writing some of us have been writing a sentence about what we see while looking at pictures. Others have been writing a story with a clear beginning, middle and end.
Math- In math we have been practicing counting and breaking apart the number 8 as many ways as possible. We are also learning to count to 100 by 1's, 2's and 5's.
Science- In Science we have been learning about animal senses and what animals have very strong senses. Ask your child about some of the amazing animal senses they have learned about.
Social- In social studies we have been learning about the important places in our communities such as grocery stores, prairie winds park and the airport. We have also been learning about landmarks in Calgary such as the Calgary Tower.
Art- In Art we learned about the Artist Stuart Davis and his abstract art where he included letters in his Art work. We created art with all the letters in the alphabet.
Health- In Health we have learned about the zones of regulation and created a toolbox of strategies we can use when we are in these zones.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Kind regards,
Ms. Youngblood
